wilson, n.c. — november 24, 2020 — close to 1,000 items were delivered by barton college on monday to hope station and the st. john community development corporation as part of the barton students’ november donation drive this fall. students, faculty, and staff of the barton campus participated in the drive, as well as members of the greater wilson community who contributed items during the drive-through luminaries celebration event held on campus last week. in addition, barton college’s assistant professor of theatre dorothy austin-harrell and her wife, amanda, made masks for the students at st. john cdc. barton alumna and americorps vista service engagement coordinator megan hickey oversaw the donation drive, which […]

weather advisory for thursday, november 12, 2020 campus operations discontinue at 2 p.m. today   members of the barton college community, we have been monitoring the inclement weather conditions today, and rain is forecast to continue into the evening.  the wilson community has a flash flood warning currently in effect until 2:30 p.m.  we realize that flash flooding can occur at different rates in different locations, and our campus community members may live in areas that are being affected more heavily. therefore, the college has made the decision to close the campus offices for the remainder of the day and evening, beginning at 2 p.m. today.  students in courses that […]

WILSON, N.C. — november 2, 2020 — Theatre at Barton is excited to present “Pride of Doves” by Doug Robinson on November 12 through November 14 at 7:30 p.m. and also on November 15 at 3 p.m. in the Kennedy Family Theatre. This dramatic production examines systemic racial, social and criminal justice issues and offers a thought-provoking message to the audience regarding a responsible approach to ending the cycle of injustice.
